Ok, so I was thinking.... we still don't have an ISE, and one of the reasons for that is that maybe they don't know how to make an Elite version that isn't just ISA with even more hit points.

So maybe we should come up with some ideas and pitch it to them?

I was wondering if after the 1st cube goes down, the nanite spheres for both sides spawn right away. That would mean you have to take care of them first. Would also mean sci ships with GW3 are even more valuable.

Then I suppose instead of the tac cube at the end, either a command ship or octahedron could come through the gateway? A command ship would be able to spawn probes etc. Would definitely make it 'Elite' due to FBP etc.

Thoughts?

That would work. The Spheres spawning after the first cube goes down would set up a race to see which gets to the Transformer(s?) first. Probably will have to hard-code it for a L-to-R run, unless you want both sets of Spheres out at once. One could do a situation where Spheres spawn on a timer, and have to be dealt with first before the Transformers, OR, ditch the fail condition for the, "repair Transformers", and constantly have Spheres spawn, with numbers increasing the longer the Transformers are up (soft enrage).

For the map size, I'd say two Tac Cubes that have some sort of 'link', where if you Zerg one down, the other gets stronger/adapts to your defenses, so it would be necessary to damage them both equally.

Continuously spawning spheres could work, but with a fail condition it would make it too much like KSA (which for KSE should probably have spheres heading to the gate).

I was thinking that both left and right spheres spawn on the death of the first cube. Basically spawn when the pop up dialog is activated. That way you'd have to clear them, and you'd be in firing range of the gateway as you're doing so.

After that, it could go back to the standard arrangement of spheres spawning after the 2nd gen goes down for each side.

It would still allow for both L->R or 3/2 splits.
